Rahim Ayew and Bruno’s Magpies Football Club will be competing in the UEFA Europa Conference League next season after finishing third in the Gibraltar National League.
In the previous campaign, the Magpies appeared in the Conference League for the first time but exited the competition with a 4-3 aggregate defeat to Northern Irish side, Crusaders FC.
This will be their second appearance in the annual football club competition organised by the Union of European Football Associations, which was first contested in the 2021/22 season
Ayew will be hoping to help his side progress to the next stage of the UEFA Europa Conference League in the 2023/24 football campaign.
He played a key role for the club this season as he helped them to win the Rock Cup for the first time after beating Lincoln Red Imps 5-4 on penalties following a 1-1 draw at full time on Thursday. Ayew has now lifted five trophies as a professional footballer.
He joined the Gibraltar National League side on a one-year-contract last season as a free agent after parting ways with Europa FC.
Ayew, 35, is the elder brother of Andre and Jordan Ayew who are captain and deputy captain for the Black Stars respectively.
The experienced right-back represented Ghana at the 2010 AFCON tournament in Angola and the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
