Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko captain, Abdul Ganiu Ismael is not rulling out a return to his former club.
Having helped the Porcupine Warriors to win the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title, the 26-year-old center-back parted ways with the Ghanaian giants by mutual agreement.
Ganiu appeared to be on his way out after he was eventually left off the club’s list for Sudan pre-season.
Prior to terminating his contract, Kotoko announced that he would be relieved of captaincy duties, with Richard Boadu taking his place.
Despite the speculations mounted over Ganiu’s exit, he did not rule out a return to his former club during an interview with Ghanasportspage.com as he admitted there could still be business done in future.
“Asante Kotoko fans are my supporters and they should forgive me. We can’t disclose all the issues but they should forgive me because we can still work together in future.
“The club has done a lot for me and I won’t rule out a return if the opportunity comes. I will come if get the chance to play for them again,” Ganiu stated.
The Ghanaian international currently plays as a defender for DR Congolese giants, TP Mazembe. He signed a two-year deal with the club in February 2023.
