Former GPL star, Kofi Abanga has slammed Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak players, saying they are not ready to die for the two Ghanaian giants.
The former Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder is highly unimpressed with the current performance of the Porcupine Warriors and his former club.
“Current Hearts and Kotoko players are not committed. I was sad whiles watching Hearts of Oak match the last time. Their performance after losing the ball seems there’s nothing at stake. They same thing happened during Kotoko’s game against Olympics. You could clearly see that they are not committed,” Abanga told Ghanasportspage.com.
He added: “This is not how to play Hearts and Kotoko. You should be filled with the spirit whenever you put on the jersey. They just win the league with some favor but will go and disgrace Ghana in Africa. This is the time to tell them the truth.
“Aduana, Medeama and Bechem United players are committed unlike Kotoko and Hearts. I think we have a lot to do. Without Kotoko and Hearts, Ghana football will be found nowhere,” the retired Ghanaian footballer noted.
Kotoko and Hearts, once arguably the most feared and respected teams in Ghana and indeed the whole of Africa is now a pale shadow of their great days. Both teams are in soccer limbo suffering humiliation after humiliation.
In the last five Premier League games, the defending champions have won only one, lost two and drawn 2. Hearts have also claimed 2 wins, one draw and two defeats.
