Accra Hearts of Oak is likely to miss key midfielder, Gladson Awako in their last four games of the season.
The former Great Olympics captain came off during Hearts’ 2-0 loss away to Samartex and now do not expect him to play for them again this season, according to a report reaching Ghanasportspage.com.
He lasted only 31 minutes and was replaced by Gideon Asante, who scored Hearts’ first goal against the Timber Boys.
Awako has not been able to put together a run of games since the CHAN tournament.
The midfielder missed ten consecutive games after their 2-0 defeat to Aduana Stars in Accra. He returned for the final few minutes of the club’s 2-0 win over King Faisal on week 29.
But the 32-year-old is having a luckless campaign so far, having missed more than half of Hearts of Oak’s Premier League games.
The Rainbows are yet to provide an update on Awako’s injury but a reliable source has confirmed that he is expected to miss the last four games of the BetPawa Premier League.
Hearts currently sit fifth on the league table with 45 points after 30 matches. They will host Medeama SC in Accra on week 31.
