BetPawa Premier League leaders Aduana Stars missed the chance to extend their leat at the top as they were held to a goalless draw by Karela United on Monday.
Paa Kwasi Fabin’s side had the better of the opportunities, most coming in the second half, but the visitors demonstrated solid performance in defence to deny the them.
The draw leaves Aduana Stars with only two-point lead at the top of the league table, while Karela sit 13th with 39 points.
In Tarkwa, Jonathan Sowah and Vincent Atinga secured much needed victory for Medeama SC over Bechem United.
The Mauve and Yellow side capitalized on Aduana Stars slip to close the gap on the league table.
Jonathan Sowah scored to put the hosts in the lead after 19 minutes. Atinga also scored his tenth goal of the season during the 33rd minute to make it 2-0 before break.
Francis Acquah breathed life back into the game when he pulled one back in the 82nd minute for the Hunters but Medeama held on to maintain their lead as the game ended 2-1.
The Mauve and Yellow side remain second on the league table with 50 points, two points behind leaders Aduana Stars. Bechem United are still at the third position with 48 points.
