Club President of JS Kabylie, Achour Cheloul has expressed interest in signing former Asante Kotoko midfielder, Maxwell Baakoh to his team after the ongoing campaign.
President Achour and his technical team approached the Ghanaian midfielder to join them in the summer following his impressive performance for USM Khenchela on week 22 of the Algerian league.
Baakoh was one of Khenchela’s standout performers during their goalless draw with JS Kabylie on Tuesday at the Hamam Ammar Stadium. He lasted the whole 90 minutes for his club.
With his performance, JSK will try to make him their top target to sign him when the next transfer window opens.
If the move does materialize, Maxwell Baakoh will cut his stay short with the Lions des Aurés to join the two-time African champions.
The 27-year-old midfielder joined USM Khenchela on a three-year deal in August 2022.
He previously played for Karela United FC in the Ghana Premier League where he showed enormous talent and displays which caught the attention of many Ghanaian football fans before his move to Asante Kotoko.
Baakoh has been impressive for his side since his arrival. He has scored eleven goals in all competitions with seven assists for Khenchela.
