A phenomenal second half to the season has put Sampson Eduku in the driving seat to win his first Golden Boot award as the Premier League’s top scorer.
Eduku is joint-leading scorer in the ongoing BetPawa Premier League on fourteen goals with Bechem United’s Hafiz Konkoni.
With four games to spare, the ex-Karela United forward said it will be good to emerge as top-scorer of the league but he can’t make any promise.
Eduku’s major objective is to score goals for Tamale City FC to survive rather than focusing on the Golden Boot race
“It is very good to win the Golden Boot and it also good for it to be part of your CV but I can’t tell whether I will win it or not. Is in the hands of the Lord because he knows the right thing for us. I won’t make any promise because my fans and the supporters of the club will be disappointed if I fail to win it. I will be okay and move on even I fail to win it. I am focusing on my team now,” Eduku said in an interview with Ghanasportspage.com.
Currently, Tamale City FC are placed 12th on the league table with 39 points, tied on points with 13th-placed Karela United.
