Ghana Premier League giants, Accra Hearts of Oak could lose one of its biggest ‘pillars’, Caleb Amankwah at the end of the season.
The centre-back’s contract at Hearts of Oak expires in June and now looks more than likely to depart on a free transfer if the club fail to convince him to renew his deal.
The defender has been linked with a move to an unknown Serbian club, according to reports.
As reported on Tuesday, Amankwah is believed to have accepted the deal, but the Ghanaian club are dissatisfied with the amount offered by the foreign club.
The Serbian club have reportedly offered $300,000 to sign the WAFA Academy graduate, but Hearts of Oak have been in negotiations with the player for a contract renewal.
Sources close to the player indicate that the Rainbows have offered Amankwah a monthly salary of Ghc 7,000, but his camp is not content with the offer and may not extend his contract.
Caleb Amankwah joined the Rainbows on a free transfer in the second half of the 2020/21 campaign after leaving Aduana Stars. He has been a key player for the Rainbows since his arrival.
