Jonathan Sowah’s brace and goals from Derrick Fordjour, Vincent Atinga and Kwasi Donsu secure a 5-1 win for Medeama SC over Accra Hearts of Oak, which puts the Tarkwa-based club on top of the league table with 53 points, one-point above second-place Aduana Stars.
Derrick Fordjour took the lead for the visitors with a superb strike in the 17th minute.
In the 27th minute, Salifu Ibrahim scored from the spot to bring the Rainbows back into the game.
But the unconvincing performance from David Ocloo’s side saw Medeama scoring in the 34th minute through Vincent Atinga before Jonathan Sowah scored to make it 3-1 before the break.
Jonathan Sowah netted again in the second half, while Kwasi Donsu scored late to power Medeama SC past a listless Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Coach David Ocloo decided to bring Richmond Ayi back in goal for the first time since their 3-0 defeat to Karela United in Anyinase.
Gladson Awako, who suffered an injury during their game against Samartex climbed off the bench in 69th minute alongside Gideon Asante.
Linda Mtange missed the clash due to yellow card accumulation.
The defeat leaves Hearts of Oak at the seventh position with 45 points.
