Accra Hearts of Oak attacker, Albert Diego Dieudonne Eonde has responded to his lengthy goal drought.
The Cameroonian international, who joined the team as one of the best attackers from the Zimbabwean league has endured a difficult run of form in the Ghanaian top flight since his arrival. His goal drought now spans thirteen appearances but he is keen to respond with a much-improved performance.
“What I can say is that I won’t give any excuse. I’ve been scoring goals in my previous teams and I came here to do same job.
“For the goals, the breakthrough will come and it will change everything. I always have the pressure whenever I get to the pitch to give my best to the team. Sometimes is not just about the goal but I put the team before me,” Albert opened up in an exclusive interview with Ghanasportspage.com.
“Scoring without winning is unnecessary. I will keep on working until I get it right. I won’t make any promise but when the breakthrough comes it will change everything and boost my confidence level. I just need that one goal for the rest to flow.
The 24-year-old is not concerned despite his lack of goals but he is hoping to get back on track again.
“I have done it before and I believe can still do it. Is all about adopting and coping for everything to flow,” Albert ended.
Hearts of Oak have struggled as a team in front of goal, having lost four of their last five games.
The Accra giants remain in a hotly-contested race to finish in the top four, with last weekend’s defeat to Medeama SC seeing them slip to eight in the Premier League table.
