Medeama Sporting Club produced a fine display to claim a 2-1 comeback win over relegation-threatened side, King Faisal on Friday to gear up for the BetPawa Premier League title.
King Faisal took the lead in the tenth minute through Samuel Kusi, but Nurudeen Abdulai quickly scored and levelled the scoreline with a powerful header in the 19th minute.
The visitors were hoping to secure the maximum points to restore their hopes of escaping relegation but they were unable to sustain Medeama’s pressure.
Things turned ugly for them in the second half as 66th minute goal by Joshua Agyemang sealed a fine comeback win for Medeama to maintain their lead on the league table.
Coming off a 1-0 win over Nsoatreman FC, the league leaders have won their last three games, boosting their confidence level ahead of their trip to Samreboi.
With two games to end the campaign, Medeama SC are topping the league with 56 points, enjoying four points lead over Aduana Stars.
King Faisal are still struggling in the relegation zone. They occupy the seventeenth position with 36 points after 32 games.
