Accra Hearts of Oak slipped to their third consecutive defeat after losing 1-0 to Legon Cities on Sunday in the BetPawa Premier League.
The Rainbows conceded in the first half and could not muster a comeback as they lost to their city rivals at the El Wak Stadium on week 32.
Maxwell Konadu’s side, who are fighting to escape relegation snatched the maximum points through Kofi Kordzi’s breakaway goal. The classic goal from the ex-Phobian was enough to separate the two sides.
The results means the Rainbows have suffered consecutive league losses and remain eight in the league, three points off the top four and two points behind their bitterest rivals, Asante Kotoko. Legon Cities find themselves at the eleventh position with 43 points.
Elsewhere, Great Olympics also won 1-0 at home over Accra Lions to boost their survival hopes alive, courtesy of Danso Otu. The Dade Boys have moved from the danger zone to 15th with 42 points.
