The Black Princesses of Ghana came from behind in impressive fashion to extend their unbeaten streak at the ongoing WAFU Zone B Girls Cup with a 3-1 comeback win over Burkina Faso to progress into the finals of the competition.
Burkina Faso opened the scoring in the first four minutes but their lead lasted for only nine minutes. Stella Nyamekye got the equalizer for Ghana in the 13th minute from a beautiful free-kick.
Success Ameyaa also made no mistake to put Ghana ahead during the 28th minute. She scored from Wasima Mohammed’s corner.
The Burkinabé side were left to rue their luck as Faiza Seidu finished the scoring to extend the lead for the hosts as Ghana progressed into the final stage of the competition.
The Black Princesses came into the contest as champions of Group A with two straight wins over Benin and Ivory Coast whilst Burkina Faso finished second in Group B after losing the top spot to Nigeria.
