Former Asante Kotoko Brazilian midfielder Fabio Gama has named his current best player of the Brazilian national football team, whom he describes as his role model, as well as his all-time best player of the five times world champions.
The Al-Muharraq midfielder named Real Madrid winger Vinícius Júnior as Brazil’s current best player of the national team, and tipped him as his personal role model among the national team players who he admires from afar.
Vinícius signed for Real Madrid in May 2017 and officially joined the club after his 18th birthday on 12 July 2018 as a means to fulfil the age 18 which is the minimum age requirement for international transfer. The now 22-year-old winger is currently living up to every penny paid by the 14 times European champions, having led the club to win 9 different titles within the last three seasons, including 1 UEFA Champions League, 1 UEFA Super Cup, 2 FIFA Club World Cups, 1 Copa del Rey and a Supercopa de España. In his last 32 La Liga matches of the current campaign, Vinícius Júnior has scored 10 goals for Real Madrid and has so far been the club’s most outstanding player in the last two seasons.
“We have many good players but now at the moment it’s Viní Jnr, at the moment he is the best Brazilian player in the world, so for now he is my role model”, Gama told ghanasportspage.com.
The 30-year-old Al-Muharraq SC playmaker explained that Viní Jnr has been the best player for Brazil at the international level consistently for the past two seasons, and his style of play and level makes him worth emulating as a role model.
“Because at the moment, in the last two seasons, he is playing very well, his playing style, his mindset, he is playing for one of the best clubs and also he is very young and that’s why I like him so much”, he stressed.
Gama went on to choose who he sees as the best Brazilian player he has seen playing for the national team, saluting former AC Milan, Barcelona star, Ronaldinho.
“For me, Ronaldinho is the best player for me because what he did nobody did, nobody has done it again. The man is a magician, so for me, Ronaldinho is the best Brazilian player”, he said.
