Former Ghanaian international, Asamoah Gyan has expressed his happiness over Ernest Nuamah’s call-up to the Black Stars of Ghana ahead of their upcoming clash against Madagascar.
Nuamah has been named among Ghana’s 24-man squad after shining for FC Nordsjaelland in the just ended Danish League.
Having helped the Black Meteors to qualify for the U-23 AFCON, he could soon pick up his first senior cap for senior side when they visit the Barea Men on June 18.
“Ernest Nuamah’s call-up to the Black Stars is excellent because he is a good player. I noticed him after the Black Meteors qualified for the CAF U-23 AFCON, and I said he would be a good player. I am happy to see him included,” Asamoah Gyan told Asempa FM.
Nuamah has been in imperious form this season, which is his first in Europe, after joining Nordsjaelland from the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana.
The 19-year-old took the Danish topflight by storm, where he scored 12 goals and provided four assists in all competitions.
The youngster was named as the 2022/23 Danish Superliga Player of the Year following a good campaign with FC Nordsjaelland.
Nuamah showed his quality to Ghanaians up close when he starred in the Black Meteors’ U23 AFCON qualifying playoff against Algeria.
