The former Asante Kotoko striker was the hero for the relegated side on Sunday in their last but one game of the season against Tamale City, scoring twice to help his record an impressive 4-1 win at the Dawu Park.
Andy Kumi, who joined Kotoku Royals in February following an unflattering campaign with Asante Kotoko has enjoyed a breakthrough season with the Premier League debutants.
The prolific attacker has netted 11 goals between February and June with two MVP’s. The results have been phenomenal for Kumi, who was once rejected by Asante Kotoko.
He has been impressive since switching from Bechem United to join the Oda-based side, setting a Premier League record for the most goals in the history of the club. It is the first time he has reached 10+ goals since his arrival in the Ghanaian top-flight in 2021.
The 24-year-old is certain to command a huge transfer in the next transfer window.
Circling media reports suggest Accra Hearts of Oak are interested in pricing him away from the struggling Premier League side next season.
Medeama SC, Aduana Stars, FC Samartex are all in the race for the services of the former Unistar Soccer Academy forward.
