Madagascar FA boss, Andrianony Victorien has tipped Ghana and Central African Republic to qualify from Group E ahead of the BAREA and Angola for the next CAF Africa Cup of Nations.
With two games to spare, Andrianony doesn’t believe his side and the Black Antelopes will defy the odds to seal qualification for the major tournament to be held in Ivory Coast next year. The two nations are both at genuine risk of bowing out of the qualification race.
Speaking ahead of their upcoming clash against Ghana, he said: “We hope to get the victory, or at least avoid defeat.
“Ghana and the Central African Republic are in a very good position right now. But Ghana remains the favorite in Group E without any defeat so far,” Mr. Andrianony told Ghanasportspage.com.
The 2019 quarter-finalist will face Ghana, who currently tops Group E with two wins and two draws on matchday 5 of the qualifiers.
The match will take place at Stade Kianja Barea in Antananarivo on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at 5:00 pm.
Ghana clawed from a goal down to secure a vital draw against Angola in their previous game, while the BAREA lost 2-0 to the Central African Republic.
