Newly-crowned Premier League champions, Medeama Sporting Club are set to boost their squad for next season’s CAF Champions League.
The Ghanaian champions secured the ticket for the 2023/24 CAF inter-club competition after lifting the Ghana Premier League title for the first on Sunday – and will need to strengthen their team to reach the money zone.
However, a reliable source close the team has disclosed to Ghanasportspage.com that the Tarkwa-based club are in talks with the management of Francis Andy Kumi for his services.
The 23-year-old is contemplating leaving the Oda-based club following their relegation, and Medeama is the team he would like to play for.
Kumi, who joined Kotoku Royals in February following an unflattering campaign with Asante Kotoko enjoyed a breakthrough season with the relegated side.
The 2022/23 campaign wasn’t a great one for the Oda-based club but will go down as the best season in Kumi’s career since his arrival in the Premier League.
The former Asante Kotoko player ended the season as the hero for Kotoku Royals, scoring 11 goals between February and June with two MVP’s.
As reported earlier, Hearts of Oak, Bechem United Aduana Stars and one Ivorian club are also interested in signing the former Unistar Soccer Academy star.
