Highly-rated defender, Caleb Amankwah has denied rumours he has been holding up contract extension talks with Ghana Premier Leaague side, Accra Hearts of Oak, saying no one has contacted him to extend his stay.
Amankwah’s contract is set to expire later this month but the Rainbows are keen to keep him, although some reports had suggested he has been holding up contract extension up talks about a new deal.
Speaking to Ghanasportspage.com, the defender said: “Nobody has contacted me for contract extension. You can ask them if they have called me. They’ve not contacted me since my injury. “
“It is not true that I have rejected their call to sign a new deal. Personally, I haven’t received any call from them. Nobody has called me”
Amankwah joined Hearts of Oak on a free transfer from Aduana Stars on March 12, 2021. Since then, he has achieved success, winning the Ghana Premier League, two FA Cup titles, and the President’s Cup with the club.
Despite the team’s abysmal performance in the 2022/23 season, the 25-year-old ended the campaign as one of the standout players in the Ghana Premier League. He is best known for his pace, scoring ability and tight marking of opponents.
