Issah Aziz and Sadiq Alhassan scored in both halves to help Dreams FC beat Alhaji Grusah’s King Faisal 2-0 to lift their first FA Cup title at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Despite being without Sylvester Simba, who is on duty with the Black Meteors, the Dawu-based club were resilient and held firm against the Inshallah Boys.
The new champions had dominated for long spells and took the lead after 20 minutes through Aziz Issah’s solo effort before the Sadiq Alhassan’s 70th minute goal.
The game had a really good tempo to it, with both sides playing with intensity and looking to get into attacking positions.
The victory sees Karim Zito’s side claim their first MTN FA Cup trophy and will represent Ghana in the CAF Confederations Cup next season.
King Faisal will lick their wounds and aim to bounce back next. The will now play in the Access Bank Division One League next season after suffering relegation from the Ghanaian top-flight last weekend.
