- Chris Hughton replaced Otto Addo as Ghana coach in February
- He has picked one win and two draws in his first three games.
Retired Ghanaian footballer, Mohammed Polo has advised the Ghana Football Association to give the Black Stars job to a local coach.
The “Dribbling Magician” is annoyed with the tactics and the performance of Coach Chris Hughton after three games.
As a result, he has urged the Ghanaian football governing body to consider local coaches for the job.
The retired Ghanaian footballer revealed in an interview with Rainbow Radio that numerous local coaches play better football than coach Chris Houghton.
“I want to emphasise that some local coaches have played quality football and should be selected or appointed as the national team’s head coach,” he said.
“In the local league, we have better coaches who play quality football and are far superior to Chris.” This should be a discussion. We witnessed the local coaches’ intramural league. We observed the level of excellence they brought to their games. We witnessed the calibre of players they developed and employed in their games. These coaches are unquestionably superior to the current coach of the Black Stars.
“This coach did not produce quality players or football. We must fire him and replace him with a better coach who understands excellent football,” the 1978 AFCON winner told Rainbow Radio.”
