Saudi Arabian clubs are plotting a possible summer move to sign Ghana and Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, according to reports. This comes amid reports that the Gunners are ready to cash in on the midfielder.
With the Gunners stacking up potential new midfield options for the upcoming season, Partey might be viewed as surplus to requirements, and good offers from other clubs may help to soften the financial blow which will likely come from buying other players.
Partey’s current contract will expire in June 2025 and no talks to extend as of today. The club’s priority remains Declan Rice.
As it stands, there are no reports yet about the specific clubs that have opened talks to sign the Black Stars deputy captain.
However, transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the clubs are ready to secure the signature of the stylish midfielder but the player is not a priority at the moment.
“With Partey, I’m aware there have already been some links with Saudi clubs, but my understanding is that they are currently focusing on other targets. Let’s see if things change and if they decide to attack the Partey situation in the next few weeks,” he told CaughtOffside.
Romano also indicated that Arsenal are willing to cash in on the Ghanaian for the right offer.
“I understand Thomas Partey could also be on the market this summer, I’m told there are now conversations ongoing, and that there is a very concrete possibility for Partey to leave Arsenal, but it’s still not advanced and will only happen if a very good proposal arrives, whereas Xhaka is all but done and just waiting for the green light.”
Before joining the Gunners, he was at Atletico Madrid, rising through their youth team ranks before reaching the B team and then the senior side.
The Ghanaian midfielder joined Arsenal in 2020, and has played 99 games for the club, netting five goals.
