Bechem United attacker, Hafiz Wontah Konkoni has opened up on his readiness to join Ghana Premier League giants, Accra Hearts of Oak.
The 24-year-old striker confirmed that the Phobians have contacted his club for his signature ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Konkoni, who recently received a maiden call-up to the senior national soccer team, the Black Stars of Ghana has been linked with a move away from the Hunters and is likely to join Accra Hearts of Oak.
Confirming the news, the prolific attacker said: “It is true. They sent an email to my club concerning my availability to come and join Accra Hearts of Oak. I also spoke with some of their big men and we are trying to see. I may be playing for Hearts of Oak if things work out well but I can’t tell what is suitable for me now,” he told Ghanasportspage.com.
Konkoni, however, admitted he would love to play for the two top clubs in the Premier League.
“There are only two biggest clubs in the country (Kotoko and Hearts of Oak) and as a player too my dream is to play one of them. I’m ever ready to play at any time if the opportunity prevails itself,” he said.
Konkoni has proven himself in the Premier League, scoring 15 goals in the just-ended season – three goals short of the leading top scorer, Abednego Tetteh.
He is the first local player to be invited to the Black Stars since Coach Chris Hughton took charge of the national team about three months ago.
