Bechem United forward, Hafiz Wontah Konkoni spoke with Ghanasportspage.com on Tuesday, where he discussed the experience of sharing the pitch with some top Ghanaian players.
The 23-year-old forward was handed a late call up to the Black Stars for the game against Madagascar after Inaki Williams pulled out of the squad due to a knee injury.
However, Konkoni was not named in the 23 man match day squad that competed against the BAREA in the island nation’s capital, Antananarivo.
Despite failing to make his debut, Konkoni indicated the experience at the camp of the Black Stars was amazing.
“The experience was amazing because training with these professional players like Thomas Partey, Dede Ayew, Jordan Ayew, and Kudus was a very good experience. It is amazing and I have learned a lot from them.”
Hafiz Konkoni played 26 matches and scored 15 goals for Bechem United in the just ended betPawa Premier League campaign.
His maiden call-up to the national team makes him the first local player to be invited to the Black Stars since Coach Chris Hughton appointment.
