Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association, Frederick Acheampong popular known as Fred Achie has finally reacted to the trending reports linking him to the CEO position of Asante Kotoko.
Circling reports in Ghana claimed the former Ashanti Gold manager has informed his confidants that he is in line to be the next Chief Executive Officer of the Porcupine Warriors as replacement for outgoing Nana Yaw Amponsah.
But the ace Ghanaian journalist and the football administrator has quickly shut down the speculations during a brief chat with Ghanasportspage.com.
“It’s not true. Do they know my friends? There’s no truth about it,” he said.
Nana Yaw Amponsah’s tenure as the CEO of Asante Kotoko has come to an end following the dissolution of the club’s board on Monday.
The decision to dissolve the board, led by Dr Kwame Kyei, was made by club owner Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II after a trophyless season and internal disagreements within the leadership.
The dissolution has put a number of aspirants on high alert with interest from multiple administrators who want to lead the club.
Kotoko would have to regroup and appoint new leaders who can steer the club forward and address the challenges that led to the dissolution of the board.
