Coach Annor Walker has denied rumours that he was approached by the management of Accra Hearts of Oak to take over their vacant coaching role
It was claimed the former Black Galaxies manager, who just returned to his ex-club Great Olympics would become the next coach of the Rainbows before the start of the 2023/24 campaign after parting ways with FC Samartex.
“I never had conversations with Hearts of Oak. Nobody called me. People were saying I can’t do the job but I didn’t want to talk. This is the right time for me to speak out,” Annor Walker told Ghanasportspage.com.
He added: “It was Vincent Odotei who sent me a WhatsApp message requesting for my C.V and I did it. I called him after two weeks to check up but he told me they were having a meeting with the players. I didn’t hear from him again but I asked him later and he said they will get back to me. Up till date… My first conversation with Odotei was on 7th June till today.
“There’s no truth about whatever they were saying. I just don’t want to talk. We are all matured and you can’t expose someone. I haven’t written to Hearts that I want a job,” the veteran trainer concluded.
Annor, who parted ways with FC Samartex last week after terminating his contract mutually despite an impressive spell in the Ghanaian top-flight has returned to Accra Great Olympics.
The Dade Boys confirmed the news on Monday on Facebook.
Walker is returning to the capital-based club as a replacement for Bismark Kobi-Mensah, whose contract with the club ran out last month.
Walker guided the Timber Boys to finish the season in 10th place in the Ghana Premier League at the end of the 2022-23 season.
