Former Asante Kotoko striker, Francis Andy Kumi has broken the silence on why he rejected offers from Ghanaian clubs including Accra Hearts of Oak to join Serbian side, FK Radnicki Nis.
While speaking with Ghanasportspage.com, Kumi said: “You know how Ghana football is. No one will ignore Europe to play in Africa. I had to honor the offer after receiving it because the things involved are good to me. These are the reasons why I turned down offers from Ghana to join FK Radnicki.”
Kumi, who enjoyed a breakthrough season with Kotoku Royals in the BetPawa Premier League has signed a three-year deal with the Serbian giants.
The Laborers took to Instagram to announce the signing of the Ghanaian forward.
Kumi left Ghana on Sunday after scoring twelve goals, with two MVP’s in 20 games between February and June.
Accra Hearts of Oak, Medeama SC, FC Samartex and other African clubs were all interested in pricing him away from the Royals.
He joins the likes of Samuel Owusu, Osman Bukari and Edmund Addo in the Serbian league.
