Daniel Afriyie Barnieh scored an emphatic brace as FC Zurich hammered FC Schaffhausen in a warm up game for the upcoming season.
The Ghanaian international struck all his two goals in the second half, while Orges Bujanku, Nikola Boranijasevic, Donis Avdijaj were also on target.
Orjes Bujanku put Zurich ahead in the opening two minutes but Schaffhausen bounced back with an equalizer during the 26th minute.
However, Zurich didn’t allow their opponent to take control as Nikola Boranijasevic scored to restore the lead two minutes before halftime.
In the second half, Donis Avdijaj extended the lead before Afriyie Barnieh added more pain to Schaffhausen’s wound with an emphatic brace in the 69th and 88th minute, putting an end to the poor run of form that had dogged him in recent matches.
The ex-Phobian failed to register a goal at the U-23 AFCON in Morocco. His last goal came on 15th June in an international friendly against Egypt.
With the win, Zurich also extend their winning streak to four as they prepare for the upcoming season.
