Former Ghanaian international, Yaw Preko has dismissed reports circulating on Facebook that he is heading to Accra Hearts of Oak as deputy coach.
It was reported last week that the Rainbows were considering bringing their ex-player who played for the club between 1991 and 1992 before working as an acting trainer in 2016 after Kenichi Yatsuhashi’s exit.
However, in an interview on Tuesday, the former Great Olympics boss indicated that he has never held talks with the management of the GPL giants.
He further disclosed his availability and readiness to work with the club whenever the opportunity is given.
Asked about the news, he said: “I haven’t heard anything. Nobody has contacted me,” he told Ghanasportspage.com.
Are you ready to help them? “I am ready because it is my job. If someone calls you for his job, you have to ask about what is good for him. if you can deliver then you can accept it but move on if you can’t deliver,” he added.
The 48-year-old tactician left Accra Great Olympics in February after losing 2-1 to Nsoatreman FC.
Before his departure, he lost six matches with same number of wins and five ending in stalemate, after officially taking the job on a year deal in September 2022.
He was replaced by former Karela United coach, Bismarck Kobby Mensah.
