A legend of Accra Hearts of Oak Dan Quaye, famously nicknamed Kofi Wayo for his no-nonsense way of expressing his talent on and off the field insists the only thing which will have pushed the Hearts of Oak administrators to do things better was for the club to be relegated last season.
The player believes things are not being done right at Hearts and the pathetic situation at the club will not change unless something dramatic happens.
Hearts of Oak were at the bottom ranks of the league table last season and were saved on the last day of the league, eventually placing 12th on the log.
Supporters of the club keep expressing their displeasure on the situation hoping for better seasons ahead but to Dan Quaye, it won’t change unless a bigger catastrophe like relegation pushes the club to mend its ways.
“I’ll have been happy if Hearts had gone on relegation to Division One last season. That would have sent a lesson for our leaders to learn sense “, Quaye told Accra-based Happy FM’s Wamputu programme.
He also said it was his wish for Hearts to go for Coach Annor Walker, who just signed for rivals Great Olympics. He said Walker is just like the celebrated Jones Attuquayfio and players respect such coaches and listen to them thus easy for clubs to chalk success. He finally called on the phobians to do things right and get good materials for the club to return to the glorious days.
