Alexander Manu has been elected as Asante Kotoko’s Ashanti Regional Circles Council Chairman following an election which was ordered by Manhyia after months of litigation.
Alexander Asare Manu pulled 98 votes with Robert Osei-Asibey having 8 votes while closest competitor Vincent Paul Achaab pulled 36 votes.
The region has been in turmoil following allegations and counter ones of the National Circles Council trying to interfere in the Ashanti Circles Council, with subsequent allegations of some candidates being unqualified.
The case found its way to the Palace of the Asantehemaa where it was referred to the Ankobeahene where the elections were ordered.
Alexander Manu succeeds Obeng Sekyere who was also a vice chairman to National Circles leader Christopher Damanya.
