Ghana Premier League giants, Kumasi Asante Kotoko have contacted highly-rated defender, Calab Amankwah for his services ahead of the upcoming campaign.
The Porcupine Warriors are knocking the door for a potential move for the 25-year-old centre to beef up their squad.
Asante Kotoko had been interested in
signing Amankwah all the way back in 2020 during his time with Aduana Stars.
The defender’s contract with Hearts of Oak expired at the end of the season but the possibility of him staying is dimming.
Having reportedly rejected contract extension with the club, Amankwah could leave on a free transfer if a new deal with the Rainbows couldn’t be signed.
Newly-promoted GPL, Nations FC are also testing the waters for the signature of the player.
Amankwah was in superb form last season despite the club’s struggles in the Ghana Premier League, having scored four goals and providing an assist.
He joined Hearts of Oak on a free transfer from Aduana Stars on March 12, 2021. Since then, he has achieved success, winning the Ghana Premier League, two FA Cup titles, and the President’s Cup with the club.
