On Saturday, new Black Galaxies boss, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani named a 96-man squad for screening and training but only two Hearts of Oak players made the cut.
However, there was an omission that may confuse the fans of the club.
Konadu Yiadom, who struggled last season and Caleb Amankwah are the two Phobians in the setup. But one Hearts of Oak player Coach Didi snubbed was Amankwah Baafi, despite his incredible performance in the just ended season.
In a season marred by disappointing performances, Amankwah Baafi emerged as the beacon of hope for the 2020/21 league champions.
He was able to shine in dual role and made himself an integral part of the team’s line-up.
It’s clear that the youngster will improve in all aspects of his game but his exclusion from the national team will be the matter of discussion.
Coach Didi will begin his job on Monday, July 17, 2023 with different group of players for screening and training at the Ghanaman Center of Excellence at Prampram.
