Brazilian midfielder, Fabio Gama has picked his goal against Ashanti Gold as the most memorable goal during his time at Asante Kotoko.
Gama’s first-half header in Obuasi proved decisive on matchday 28 of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League as Kotoko emerged supreme in the Ashanti Derby over the Miners. The goal was the Brazilian’s third of the season.
The 30-year-old midfielder appeared in 48 games for the Ghanaian giants and helped them to win the Ghana Premier League title for a record 25th time before his exit.
Asked about his memorable moment in the Ghana Premier League, the midfield dynamo said: “I think the goal I scored against Ashanti Gold with my head. That goal was very special. It was a good moment because the team took the lead on the league table after that goal so for me it is a special goal,” Gama told Ghanasportspage.com.
Currently plying his trade with Bahraini giants Al-Muharraq SC, Gama’s contributions to Asante Kotoko’s title-winning campaign have solidified his legacy as one of the notable figures in the club’s history. With his exceptional skill set and commitment, Gama has become a cherished figure among the Kotoko faithful.
