Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II has finally dissolved the board and management of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club.

The final decision was taken on Tuesday afternoon during a crucial meeting which was held at Manhyia. Otumfuo thanked the members for their service.

Dr. Kwame Kyei, on behalf of the board also thanked the sole patron of the club for granting them the opportunity to serve the club.

The contract of the board and management expired last month with Manhyia, under the directive of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu dissolving them following what was a tough season at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

Kotoko finished fourth on the Ghana Premier League table last season, eight points behind winners Medeama Sporting Club.

They also failed to make the final of the MTN FA Cup which was eventually won by Dreams Football Club.

Kotoko’s board was unveiled in June 2020 to help the club return to its glory days. The 12-member board during its tenure led the club to clinch the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.

It consisted of Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei, Vice Chairman Mr Jude Arthur, Kwadwo Boateng Gyamfi, Kwasi Osei Ofori, Alhaji Lamin, Lawyer Kwamena Mensah, Joseph Yaw Addo, Miss Evelyn Nsiah, Baffour Kwame Kusi, Mr Kofi Amoah Abban, Mr Martin Osei Kwaku Brobbey and Mr James Osei Brown.

The management team, which is led by Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nana Yaw Amponsah has also been dissolved.

Manhyia will bring out the new direction of the club and known faces are among those being considered, according to information available to Ghanasportspage.com
