32-year-old Ghanaian midfielder, Gladson Awako has left Ghana Premier League giants, Accra Hearts of Oak after two years, Ghanasportspage.com can confirm
The former U-20 World Cup winner’s contract with the Phobians expires in 2024 but the two parties have mutually agreed to part ways.
Awako joined Hearts of Oak amidst a controversial transfer from the Dade Boys in 2021 which saw him stay out of action for over 100 days.
He played an instrumental role in the club’s FA cup triumph two seasons ago and led the Black Galaxies to the CHAN tournament in Algeria.
The ex-TP Mazembe midfielder was named as the captain of the club after Fatawu Mohammed’s exit.
Having struggled with injuries last season, the experience midfielder will look for a ‘fresh start’ this summer by leaving the Phobians.
