Former Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Sani Mohammed says it would be very difficult for the Phobians to perform in the 2023/24 season due to late preparations.
The Ghanaian giants are yet to announce a permanent head coach before the start of the upcoming campaign since Slavko Matic’s departure.
The process to find the Serbian’s successor to lead the team for pre-season training has been delayed.
Speaking about the current situation of the club, Sani Mohammed said: “I am worried about Hearts of Oak because other clubs have started preparations for the upcoming season. The likes of Heart of Lions and Samartex have all started preparations but a big team like Hearts of Oak are yet to…
“They just don’t know their direction. Even up till now, they don’t have a coach and a goalkeeper’s trainer but they are expecting to perform well next season. It can never be possible,” Sani Mohammed told Mothers 102.7FM in Accra.
The retired goalkeeper played for the two biggest clubs in Ghana, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko before joining the Ghana Police Service in 2013.
He won the Ghana Premier League and the CAF Confederations Cup in 2002 and 2004 respectively with the Phobians before quitting to join their arch rivals.
