Ghanaian attacker, Hafiz Konkoni is likely to join Yanga SC of Tanzania in the ongoing transfer window, Ghanasportspage.com can confirm.
Konkoni, who attracted interest from Accra Hearts of Oak was also in the books of Simba SC but their rivals, Yanga SC have made contact with the GPL side for his services. Kokoni is set to pen a two-year deal with Yanga.
The Citizens are expected to announce the signing of the Ghanaian international in the coming days if the deal goes through.
Konkoni, 24, is one of the best attackers in the Ghana Premier League and has been a pivotal part of Bechem United’s set-up in the last three campaigns.
He joined the Hunters in 2018 before sealing a move to Alsancak Yesilova in Cyprus.
Konkoni returned to Ghana to rejoin Bechem United after the 2019/20 season and became the main attacker of the team.
His brilliant performance earned him a maiden call-up to the Black Stars last month ahead of Ghana’s AFCON qualifier clash against Madagascar.
Konkoni’s invitation to the national makes him the first local player to join the four-time African under Chris Hughton, who took over from Coach Otto Addo.
He played 26 matches and scored 15 goals for the Hunters in the just-ended Ghana Premier League campaign.
