Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak have completed the signing of three players, Raphael Amponsah, Evans Adomako and Martin Karikari from Asekem Football Club on a long-term contract.
The trio played key roles in the Asekem team which finished in 7th place on the 2022/23 Division One Zone two league table, with Martin Karikari finishing the season as the team’s top scorer with 12 goals.
The Rainbows are looking to strengthen their team after a difficult 2022/23 football season which saw the team finish in 12th place on the league table, avoiding relegation on the final day and with just two points.
The Rainbows also failed to defend the MTN FA Cup and also faced a pathetic fate in the CAF Confederation Cup, bowing out in the second round of the qualifiers after losing to AS Real Bamako of Mali.
Having signed these key players, the team will be hoping to build a strong team for the upcoming campaign.
The trio become the latest players to join the club this window after Kelvin Osei Asibey from Eleven Wonders and Liventus Arthur from Tamale City.
Hearts of Oak is scheduled to begin the new season with an away game against Real Tamale United (RTU) on Sunday, September 17, 2023.
