Hearts of Oak signs former Asec Mimosas goalie Yao Wilfred Kouassi

Accra Hearts of Oak secured the signature of Ivorian goalkeeper, Yao Wilfred Kouassi to help the club strengthen their goalkeeping department.

Former Asec Mimosas goalie, Kouassi was born on December 20, 1996, the 26-year-old Kouassi has undergone a thorough assessment by the technical team at Pobiman.

Following their detailed analysis of his playing style, strengths, and potential areas for improvement, Kouassi has made a strong impression and has been awarded a two-year contract.

Yao Wilfred Kouassi’s move to Hearts of Oak was orchestrated by former Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC player Amed Toure, who is now a football agent. Kouassi’s journey to Hearts of Oak comes after his time with FC Mouna.

During the 2022/23 season, Kouassi showcased his skills with FC Mouna in the Ivorian lower-tier league, contributing to the team’s qualification for the Ivorian topflight.

His performances included 12 clean sheets and 15 goals conceded in 25 matches, earning him recognition as the best goalkeeper in the lower-tier league.
