The 2023 GFA elections will be free and fair , the general secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Prosper Harrison Addo has assured.
The biggest attention is on the GFA Presidential race between incumbent Kurt Okraku and former vice president of the association George Afriyie. The latter lost the 2019 elections as he conceded defeat in the final round of voting as Kurt became the first president of the GFA since the 2018 Anas expose that shook Ghanaian and African football.
Generally , the interest to lead the GFA has dwindled as compared to four years ago when six candidates contested with the likes of Fred Pappoe , Amanda Clinton , George Ankoma Mensah and Nana Yaw Amponsah.
“This roadmap that you see out there, FIFA is okay with it. So, we are very compliant and will follow the timetable to ensure that everything is fair,” Prosper Harrison Addo said to Citi Sports.
The GFA General Secretary continued, “I don’t think anything will be done to hinder any of the processes.”
Meanwhile the elections are scheduled to take place on 27th September in Tamale.
