Ghana international midfielder Thomas Partey is becoming a familiar face at the right back position at Arsenal FC at the start of the new Premier League season.
Arsenal defeated Palace on the road thanks to a Martin Odegaard penalty in the 53rd minute. The former Atletico Madrid man started and completed match as a makeshift right back.
Partey was deployed in the same role in Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest on opening day of the season. Manager Mikel Arteta made the decision as main right-back Ben White is pushed to central defence to partner William Saliba.
Full-back Tomiyasu Takehiro of Japan was used at left back as Partey puts in another fine display at an usual position to show how versatile he is.
