Mohammed Kudus has revealed the name of the Ghanaian footballer who influenced his decision to sign for Premier League side West Ham United and it is current Black Stars skipper Andre Ayew.
“Ayew has been speaking highly of West Ham,” said Kudus.
“John Paintsil is way older so I didn’t really get the chance to speak with him but Andre [Ayew] is still in the national team and he speaks a lot about his experiences in most clubs and West Ham is one of the clubs that he speaks highly of.”
The former FC Nordsjaelland player will coincidentally wear the No14 shirt which was formerly donned by Paintsil who featured for the Hammers between 2006 and 2008.
“That’s great [that I picked the same shirt number as John Paintsil].”
Meanwhile Ayew who scored 12 goals and provided five assists for West Ham United is currently a free agent having last played in the Premier League for Nottingham Forest in the second half of last season.
The Black Stars captain may however team up with Mohammed Kudus as Ghana plan ahead of their final 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Central African Republic on September 7.
