A second assistant coach is set to arrive at Asante Kotoko for the upcoming 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season and the announcement could be made by the close of the week, Ghanasportspage.com can authoritatively report.
David Ocloo, confidante of Prosper Narteh Ogum has returned to the Porcupine Warriors as an assistant coach after leaving Hearts of Oak at the end of last season. Ocloo took over as interim head coach of the Phobians following the acrimonious exit of Serbian trainer Slavko Matic.
Former WAFA assistant coach Moro Ibrahim who once worked with Ogum at the Academy side has also joined the Reds but he has been re-assigned to the youth team.
Ghanasportspage.com is reliably told another coach will be hired to form part of the technical staff of the first team of the Porcupine Warriors in a bid to maintain Ogum’s tradition of having two deputies.
The strategy worked well as Kotoko won the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title with Ocloo and John Eduafo as the two assistants of Dr. Ogum.
