Bofoakwa Tano FC have denied Skyy FC a record second Super Cup trophy in two years after beaten the Daboase lads 1-0 in the final of the 2023 Division One League (DOL) Super Cup on Friday, September 1, 2023.
It is the first time a newly-promoted Premier League side has won the DOL Super Cup.
Saaka Dauda scored the only goal of the match in the 72nd minute to win the title for Bofoakwa Tano.
Skyy FC went into the game looking to end on a high after a clean run of results in the tournament but Bofoakwa Tano – a side they defeated 2-0 in the Group stage ended their winning streak to lift the trophy.
The goal forced Skyy FC to throw more men forward but their efforts yielded no results as Bofoakwa Tano Coach Frimpong Manso packed the bus to stop them from making incursions into the box.

Bofoakwa Tano becomes the third team to win the Division One Super Cup – following in the footsteps of Skyy FC and Liberty Professionals (now Hohoe United FC).
The Division One League Super Cup is an off-season tournament for the best performing teams in the Access Bank Division One League including the three top teams from Zone One, Zone Two and Zone Three.
Skyy FC was the first club to win the title after beating Tema Youth in the final.
