Bibiani Gold Stars midfielder Appiah McCarthy has talked about his dead-ball qualities after scoring his third freekick of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season against Hearts of Oak last Sunday.
Gold Stars were held by Hearts of Oak at the Dun’s Park as Hamza Issah scored a 92nd minute equalizer to cancel the home team’s lead. It was McCarthy who scored from a direct freekick , about 25 yards from goal , in the 81st to put his side ahead.
The former Ashantigold creative player has three freekick goals this season against Real Tamale United , Heart of Lions and the Phobians.
“Freekick is my weapon that I always try to score when I get them. I always work on that and for a long time I have always tried to perfect my freekick qualities. Thankfully this season, I have scored three so far” , he told Fox FM in Kumasi.
