Medeama SC head coach Augustine Evans Adotey says he knew his side’s Week 8 game against Hearts of Oak was going to be a hard one. The Phobians produced one of the best performances of the season to account for the champions of Ghana at the Accra sports stadium with a 3-1 success.
“First , let me congratulate my opposition coach. Before I came into this game I knew definitely fans of Hearts , Hearts of Oak the club itself will want to revenge as we spoke , the 5-1 last season.
I knew , looking at the position of Hearts , this is their fist time of winning (correction : their second win) , this is their first win. So I knew before the game that it was not going to be easy ” , Evans Adotey said after the match.
An own goal by Medeama goalkeeper Appiah Kubi following a corner kick taken by Salifu Ibrahim put Hearts of Oak ahead in the 6th minute before Hamza Issah netted a powerful brace in the 17th and 34th minutes.
Godknows Dzakpasu scored the consolation goal for the Yellow and Mauves in the 21st.
