Accra Hearts of Oak extended their unbeaten run in the Ghana Premier League to three games after holding Karela United on Saturday in a Week 9 Ghana Premier League match.
The game ended 1-1 at the Aliu Mahama sports stadium. Emmanuel Owusu Boakye netted first in the 10th minute to put the home team ahead before Hamza Issah equalized in the 40th with a clever header from close range.
With six minutes from time , Owusu Boakye was brought down in the Hearts penalty area as referee Awurisa awarded a penalty to the home team. Evans Adomako stepped forward to take it but he was unsuccessful as Richmond Ayi produced a superb save to deny him.
The Phobians are thus undefeated in their last three league outings against Bibiani Gold Stars (1-1) , Medeama SC (3-1 win) and Karela.
The goal also represents the 4th strike of the league season for the talented Issah who is so much adored by Hearts boss Martin Koopman.
The draw takes Hearts of Oak to 8th position on the league standings on 10 points.
