Comoros recorded another upsetting victory against the Black Stars of Ghana on Tuesday during Match-Day Two of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification series.
The Group I clash ended 1-0 in favor of the home team. The game was played at the Stade de Moroni that was packed to the rafters as Myziane Maolida scored a brilliant goal in the 43rd minute.
The Hertha Berlin player received the ball on the edge of the Ghana area , danced through a number of Ghanaian players before powering a clever shot that beat goalkeeper Richard Ofori.
The defeat is the first competitive loss for Ghana boss Chris Hughton against Comoros who also defeated the Black Stars at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in January 2022.
The Black Stars are now 3rd on the group standings with 3 points taken from two games whilst minnows Comoros surprisingly go top of the group with six points from two matches. Mali , who drew at home to Central African Republic on Monday , are second with four points.
