Africa’s most successful club, Al Ahly are reportedly interested in Medeama forward Jonathan Sowah.
According to multiple reports, the Black Stars striker has drawn interest from other two big clubs on the continent including Mamelodi Sundowns and Pyramids FC.
Sowah featured in his side’s 3-0 defeat to Ahly in their CAF Champions League group stage opener on Saturday 25, 2023.
Despite the defeat it appears, he left a mark in the game although he failed to find the back of the net.
The 24-year-old striker had a breakthrough season in the previous campaign, leading Medeama’s title triumph.
The talisman had a phenomenal campaign netting 12 goals in 18 appearances and subsiquently earning a call-up to the Black Stars.
He currently has 8 goals in 13 games in all competitions this season.
For the national team, he has made two appearances for the Black Stars, making his debut in a 3-1 victory against Liberia in a friendly game. He set up Jordan Ayew for the third goal.
He made his second and competitive debut in a 1-0 defeat to Comoros in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November 2023.
